School holidays have been announced in Chennai and other districts of Tamil Nadu amid persistent heavy rainfall. As per reports, eight districts, including Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, and Thanjavur, are under a red alert today. Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai issued a cyclone alert and advised fishermen not to venture into the sea, India Today reported.
