Scientists build quantum computer that uses noise to drive cooling
short by Neeraja Nath / on Friday, 30 January, 2026
Researchers from Sweden created a quantum computer that uses noise that can destroy fragile quantum information as driving force for cooling. This device steers heat at extremely small scales and can also act as a refrigerator, heat engine or energy amplifier. This offers new ways to manage heat inside quantum circuits and develop scalable quantum computing.
