Scientists create plastic that destroys 94% viruses on contact

Scientists at RMIT University have developed a thin plastic film that can physically destroy viruses on contact, reducing disease spread from frequently touched surfaces like smartphones. In laboratory tests, it disabled around 94% of viruses within an hour, tearing them apart and severely damaging them. Made from acrylic and coated with microscopic nanopillars, the film ruptures viral particles.
