Scientists at the University of Southampton have detected deep pulses in the Earth beneath Africa. At the Afar triple junction under Ethiopia, where three tectonic plates meet, molten magma is pounding the planet's crust from below, scientists have discovered. Eventually, the continent will be torn apart and a new ocean will be formed.
