Scientists at Cambridge University have developed a new type of nanoelectronic device that could reduce AI energy use by up to 70%. The device uses a modified form of hafnium oxide and replicates how neurons connect and communicate in the brain. It stores information operating with ultra-low power, using a two-step growth process involving strontium and titanium for enhanced efficiency.
