UC Riverside and Google researchers have developed UNITE, an AI model that detects tampered and AI-generated videos by analysing entire video frames, not just faces. Unlike older detectors, UNITE catches background and motion inconsistencies, too. The breakthrough, presented at CVPR 2025, aims to fight deepfakes and disinformation as synthetic video creation tools become more accessible.
