Scientists have discovered a 'third' state of cells, between life and death, while analysing skin cells from dead frog embryos. The study, published in journal Physiology, found that these cells started moving and reorganised themselves into an organism called "xenobots". "The third state suggests...organismal death may play a significant role in how life transforms over time," researchers said.
