Scientists have discovered a 155-million-year-old brittle star, Ophiactis hex, capable of self-replication through fissiparity. Found in a German limestone deposit, this well-preserved fossil shows six arms and regeneration abilities. It's the first known specimen demonstrating six-fold symmetry linked to clonal fragmentation, highlighting its evolutionary significance.
