Scientists identified shared set of genes linked to limb regeneration in salamanders, zebrafish and mice that may help humans regrow lost limbs. The study found that genes called SP6 and SP8 are crucial for regenerating bones and tissues, while gene therapy experiments restored some regrowth abilities in mice. They said it could advance future regenerative medicine and limb-replacement therapies.
