Canada-based scientists have approximated that the Milky Way weighs between 400 to 580 billion solar masses. The sun's mass is 2 nonillion (2 followed by 30 zeroes) kilograms or 3.3 lakh times the Earth's mass. Apart from the visible matter forms like stars and planets, the mass of dark matter was also estimated through its gravitational influence on visible objects.
