Scientists find antimatter 'atom' acting like wave for first time
short by Sourav Kumar / on Wednesday, 29 April, 2026
Scientists at Tokyo University of Science have observed wave-like interference in positronium, a rare matter-antimatter “atom,” paving way for research in physics. They used negatively charged positronium ions and a timed laser pulse, producing high-energy beams. The results show positronium behaves as a single quantum object despite consisting of two particles, confirming its wave-like behaviour.
