UK-based scientists have discovered a way to switch off sperm's ability to swim by making cell-penetrating peptides, which get inside sperm and make men infertile. These compounds stop the sperm from wiggling their tails, giving it no chance of fertilising an egg. The advancement could eventually help in developing male contraceptive pills.
