Scientists grow watermelons in coldest part of Earth

In a remarkable feat, Russian scientists cultivated watermelons in the seemingly inhospitable terrain of Antarctica at Vostok Station in the Pole of Cold, the coldest spot on Earth, with temperatures plunging to -89.2°C. They transformed the station's greenhouse into a conducive oasis by manipulating air temperature and humidity and managed to attain an environment suitable for watermelon growth.
