Scientists link Neanderthal extinction to human diseases

A new study has claimed that complex disease transmission patterns can explain how modern humans were able to wipe out Neanderthals in Europe and Asia in just a few thousand years. Researchers hypothesise that the disease burden of the tropics, origin place of modern humans, being larger than temperate regions' must've also been responsible for Neanderthals extinction.
