Scientists set new nuclear fusion record
short by Daisy Mowke / on Saturday, 7 June, 2025
Researchers at Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Germany have achieved a major breakthrough in nuclear fusion. They have managed to sustain a fusion reaction for 43 seconds using Wendelstein 7-X nuclear fusion reactor. Scientists used the machine with extremely low-density and electrically charged hydrogen gas as fuel. Nuclear fusion is seen as potential solution for clean energy.
