Scientists turn DNA into memory device that uses 100x less power

Researchers at The Pennsylvania State University combined synthetic DNA with a semiconductor to create an ultra-low-power memory device capable of storing and processing information in the same place. "Our device...consumes 100 times less power, and the storage capacity is higher than traditional storage devices," a researcher said. The team now plans to improve the technology further.
