A new study uses precise isotopic measurements from Earth and Apollo lunar samples to reconstruct the lost planet Theia, which collided with early Earth and formed the Moon. The results show Theia likely originated even closer to the Sun than Earth, offering the strongest evidence yet about its composition, birthplace and role in shaping the Moon.
