A recent study by scientists from the Centre for Study of Science, Technology, and Policy in Bengaluru has raised alarm over the potential submersion of coastal areas in Karnataka, particularly Mangalore and Udupi, due to rising sea levels. The research indicates that around 5% of the land in these cities could be submerged by 2040.
