Scientists have warned that Antarctica's ice and ecosystem are at risk for abrupt and potentially irreversible changes due to global warming in a new study published in the journal Nature. These changes are "interlinked" with global climate ripple effects, they stated. "Such a collapse would result in catastrophic consequences for generations to come," the study's lead author said.
