SEBI allows digital power of attorney submission for foreign investors
SEBI has allowed foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) to submit digitally signed power of attorney documents, removing the need for notarised or officially authenticated copies. The move will simplify FPI onboarding, reduce paperwork and speed up the process for overseas investors. Earlier, FPIs had to submit physically authenticated documents to custodians, which could delay onboarding.
