SEC halts election process for 100 seats in Andhra civic polls after SC order

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (APSEC) halted the ongoing election process across all 100 urban local bodies in the state. The elections cover 13 municipal corporations and 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats. The Supreme Court had asked APSEC to consider extending the nomination deadline for candidates allegedly prevented from filing their papers due to law and order issues.
