Voters in Switzerland's canton of St Gallen have approved a ban on facial coverings such as the burqa in public. The Swiss canton of Ticino was the first in the country to introduce the ban two years ago. Switzerland will hold a national referendum on the issue after activists collected over one lakh signatures needed to trigger a referendum.
