A secretive Chinese technology firm has been trying to recruit recently laid-off US government workers, Reuters reported citing a researcher who uncovered the campaign. The firm "seeks to exploit the financial vulnerabilities of the workers", the researcher said. The workers have been fired or forced into retirement by US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.
