The Election Commission announced on Wednesday that seizure of cash, liquor, drugs and other freebies in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu crossed a total of ₹1,000 crore before the Assembly Elections. EC said between February 26 and April 22, drugs worth over ₹184 crore were seized from the two states. About 5,363 teams were deployed to conduct surprise checks.
