Doctors and medical staff at KDMC Shastrinagar Hospital in Mumbai's Kalyan boycotted non-emergency services after Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre allegedly assaulted a doctor, nurses and a gynaecologist following a dispute over a pregnant patient's referral. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) condemned the attack and demanded strict action. Following the assault, police registered an FIR.
