Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened higher on Friday, recovering from the previous session's sharp decline. The BSE Sensex opened 489.36 points, or 0.64%, higher at 77,121.01, whereas Nifty rose 0.44% to begin trading at 23,880.55. The surge in early trade came despite lingering caution over rising crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions stemming from war in the Middle East.
