Sensex closes 905 points higher, Nifty ends above 22,900

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty recovered from early losses to end sharply higher on Thursday, supported partly by US Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged. The Sensex rose 905.01 points, or 1.24%, to close at 74,151.04, while the Nifty gained 237.90 points, or 1.05%, to settle at 22,936.75. Around 2,502 stocks advanced, 1,638 declined and 166 remained unchanged.
