The Sensex dipped over 1,600 points on Monday while the Nifty tumbled nearly 500 points as the Indian rupee dipped past the 95-mark for the first time. Sensex ended below the 72,000 mark while Nifty closed above 22,300 level. The market rout led to investor wealth worth nearly ₹9 lakh crore getting wiped off in just one day.
