Sensex ends 2,000 points higher, investors' wealth rises by ₹8 lakh crore

Benchmark index Sensex closed over 2,000 points higher at 79,310.01 on Thursday, adding around ₹8 lakh crore to investor wealth. Nifty also jumped sharply to end above 24,500. The rally comes after crude oil dipped below $100 per barrel and the dollar weakened following the Republican Party's defeat in the US midterm elections.
