Sensex plunged by more than 500 points during the session on Tuesday to slip below 85,000, while Nifty also fell 0.4% to 26,143.45. Oil and gas sector stocks led the decline, as the BSE Energy index fell by around 2%. The dip comes amid US-Venezuela tensions and a threat by US President Donald Trump to impose more tariffs on India.
