Indian benchmark indices opened in the green on Tuesday, with BSE Sensex jumping 97 points higher at 78,617.16 and Nifty starting the trade at 24,374.55. Immediately after opening, Sensex was up 420 points, or 0.54%, at 78,940, while Nifty gained 110 points to hover near the 24,500 mark. IndiGo and Axis Bank were top gainers on BSE in early trade.
