Serbia Prez Vucic announces resignation to run for PM in Oct snap polls

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic resigned on Sunday to run for prime minister in the October 25 snap parliamentary elections. Vucic, who was serving his second term, is constitutionally barred from seeking a third presidential term. Opposition groups and rights organisations have accused him and his allies of authoritarian rule and leading a corrupt government.
