Protests broke out across Iran on Friday after the government raised fuel price by at least 50%. State news agency reported "severe" protests in Sirjan as "people attacked a fuel storage warehouse and tried to set fire to it". Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, "Increasing petrol prices is to people's benefit and also to help the society's strata under pressure."
