Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy refuted Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) claim that Shakti scheme, which provides free bus travel for women, caused them heavy losses and said the scheme increased ridership by two million annually. Speaking on KSRTC's demand for 20% fare hike after it suffered ₹295 crore loss in three months, Reddy said, "I've received no proposal."
