Shareholder rights can't be nullified: Tata Trusts lawyer on Tata Sons row

Tata Trusts has hired senior lawyer Abhishek Singhvi amid its ongoing dispute with Tata Sons, where it holds a majority stake, over the reappointment of Chair N Chandrasekaran. Expressing "sadness" over the conflict, Singhvi said, "Fundamental rights of shareholder-owners cannot be nullified." "To stultify shareholder ownership rights would spell doomsday for corporate governance," he added.
