Shatavadhani Dr R Ganesh won Padma Bhushan for single-handedly reviving and mastering 'Avadhana'. This ancient art form requires performer to simultaneously solve multi-layered literary, mathematical and musical challenges without writing anything down. The 63-year-old polyglot has performed over 1,300 avadhanas and is the only Shatavadhani (one who performs with 100 questioners) from Karnataka.
