Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein was accused by three independent designers of using a "secretive algorithm" to identify trending art and allegedly reproducing designs. "There is no Coco Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent behind...Shein...Rather...a mysterious tech genius," suit claimed. The artists claimed both Shein and its parent engaged in "produc[ing], distribut[ing] and selling exact copies".
