Shingles vaccine may lower dementia risk: Reports

Growing evidence suggests the shingles vaccine may offer benefits beyond preventing painful rashes by lowering dementia risk. Studies from the US, Wales, Australia and Canada found vaccinated older adults were less likely to develop dementia, possibly by reducing brain inflammation caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus.
