Voters from Thane and Kalyan, strongholds of Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, elected their candidates rejecting Uddhav Thackeray’s Sena. Dr. Shrikant Shinde, son of Eknath Shinde has been elected again from Kalyan. In Thane, Naresh Mhaske, an old follower of deceased Sena leader Anand Dighe, won against Rajan Vichare, who was also a mentee of Dighe but stayed with Uddhav Thackeray.
