SHO, SI suspended after HC flags illegal detention

Deoria SP suspended Salempur SHO Vinod Kumar Singh and SI Deep Narayan after the Allahabad High Court flagged alleged illegal detention of a man for six days (Aug 28–Sep 2). CCTV footage from the station reportedly corroborated the detention. The HC has directed the investigating officer to appear on October 23 with footage and records.
