Microplastics found in brains, can disrupt brain functions: Study

In a study published in Nature Medicine, researchers from University of New Mexico found microplastics in human brains at higher levels than in other organs, with a 50% rise over eight years. The study added that the plastics are smaller than viruses and can disrupt brain functions. It further said that alarming concentrations of microplastics were noted in dementia patients.
