Dr Anita David explains that vaccination should be part of pre-pregnancy planning. Women should review their vaccine history and discuss MMR, varicella, hepatitis B and HPV vaccines with their doctor. Some vaccines are best given before conception, while flu and Tdap vaccines can be given during pregnancy to help protect both mother and baby.
