Indian astronaut and Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla attended the launch of Vikram-1, India's first privately built orbital rocket, from Skyroot Aerospace's Mission Control Centre. ISRO Chairman V Narayanan, former ISRO chief S Somanath and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh were also present. Vikram-1 is a seven-storey, multi-stage launch vehicle built with an all-carbon composite structure.
