SIDBI enters venture debt market, makes 4 investments

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Chairman Sivasubramanian Ramann announced the bank's entry into venture debt market during a conclave in Mumbai. "A lot of banks, even today, aren't in a position within their straitjacket to provide debt to companies," he said. Speaking of SIDBI's venture debt efforts, he said, "It's very small beginnings, but..we've done about four investments."
