Germany-based engineering conglomerate Siemens on Monday agreed to buy software company CD-adapco in a $970 million deal with an aim to strengthen its core industrial business. Established in 1980, CD-adapco, which is best known for its computational fluid dynamics products, makes and distributes applications for computer-aided engineering used to simulate the workings of an engine.
