Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik's office on Thursday said US-based Silicon Power will invest ₹1,000 crore to set up a silicon carbide manufacturing plant in the state. The investment will be made by the company's Indian unit RIR Power Electronics, the office said. It added that the plant is expected to start operations in the next 18 to 24 months.
