Silicon Valley startup Palantir wins $800M US Army contract

California-based software startup Palantir Technologies has won an $800-million contract to build complex battlefield intelligence system for US Army. This was reportedly the first time that the US signed a Silicon Valley software company to lead a defence program of record, as opposed to a traditional military contractor. Palantir was competing against Raytheon for the contract for a year.
