Riverbanks along the Simsang River in South Garo Hills have turned into winter vegetable belts, covering 110 hectares under scientific cultivation. Backed by PDMC and MIDH schemes, farmers are earning up to ₹1.5 lakh per season, marking a shift from jhum to organised riverine farming.
