Singapore reported its highest temperature in 40 years at 37 degrees Celsius on Saturday, National Environment Agency said in a Facebook post. The temperature also surpassed the previous record for May 2022, when the highest temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius, it said. Notably, Southeast Asia is grappling with blistering heat and also reporting a rise in heatstroke cases.
