Singer Zubeen Garg died in a scuba diving accident in Singapore. He was in the country for North East India Festival, where he was scheduled to perform on September 20 and 21. Garg had posted a video on Instagram, inviting fans to the festival, two days before his death. He also paid tribute to legendary Assamese singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika.
